• Determination of Rice Syrup Marker (SM-R). It has been found that in the production of rice syrup that a specific compound is produced. This compound can be identified and quantified by LCMSMS. If this product is added to honey, its presence can be determined using this technique
• Determination of foreign enzymes such as B fructofuranosidase can give an indication if syrup that has been inverted using such enzymes has been added to the honey
• Our expertise in pollen analysis by microscopy can be used to assess both botanical and geographic origin of a honey
• The testing of honey for the presence of genetically modified material (GMM or GMO) using PCR based DNA techniques can identify the presence of genetically modified plant material in a honey
